Delegates network at the launch of Perspektivy
The Perspektivy programme was officially launched at an event bringing together media professionals and observers from around Russia at Lumiere Brothers' gallery in Moscow.
Kicking off with introductions from the programme's partners and a panel discussion on how journalism is faring in view of 24-hour news, social media, 'citizen journalism' and the digital era, the audience listened to senior journalists and editors from the top news providers in Russia, as well as experts from the floor. After much debate, a straw poll of the audience suggested that a slim majority (but still a majority) were optimistic about the future.
The walls of the gallery were hung with photos taken by participants of the first photojournalism workshop in Novosibirsk. The guests were able to appreciate these whilst mingling and networking after the formal part of the programme.
